Periodontal Treatment

Periodontal disease, commonly called gum disease, or gingivitis in the early stage, is the leading cause of adult tooth loss in the United States. We have successfully treated thousands of patients with conservative therapy, including Prophy-Jets and ultrasonic scalers. Your hygienist will remove hardened plaque beneath the gum line and smooth rough areas on teeth roots, where plaque tends to build up. This reduces gum irritation and bacteria. We may administer local antibiotic to kill infection, as well.
